You can find The Rook hidden away off York St, a secret rooftop hideaway with amazing art by New York-based artist Vexta, a tasty 'lobster and burger' menu - but more to the point an extensive drinks list and very talented bartenders.
Over the last two years The Rook has become Sydney's 'home of gin' with an amazing gin selection, bespoke tonic waters and thoughtful, fun cocktails.
The Rook's love of all things gin is epitomised by their hosting of Juniper Society, a monthly gathering of gin-lovers and special guests speakers from the industry to talk all things gin, all the while enjoying a tasting of The Rook's gin cocktails.
A couple of the highlights include the 'Down the Rabbit Hole', which contains a butterfly pea extract to change the colour of the cocktail, and the 'Thorny Rose' a rose tainted Negroni served with a chai tea smoke.
And speaking of Negroni's, it’s definitely the classic cocktail of choice at The Rook. With 80-odd gins too choose from and incredibly knowledgeable bartenders there are many variations to give a whirl.
