It’s been a busy couple of weeks at the distillery – on both sides of the wall! Behn and I have been distilling like crazy to stay on top of orders, and the long weekend kept the guys very busy behind the bar.
The big news of course was the launch of Cousin Vera’s Gin – the latest addition to our range and the first in our ‘Distiller Series’. I distilled this gin at Santamania Distillery in Spain at the end of last year. It’s been a long process since we first had the idea, so it’s been great to see it finally come to life, and we’ve had a really positive response so far which has been awesome to see. The team have been packaging up orders like mad!
We hosted a couple of masterclasses at the distillery, including two interactive distilling classes as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. I love seeing the interest and excitement on people’s faces as they are able to get hands-on with the gin-making process.
This is something we’re looking to do a lot more of in the near future with our new experimental still Eileen, so stay tuned.
We also had lots of great visitors come through the doors which is always nice. The team from Punt Road popped in for their end-of-vintage drinks, and our friend The Gin Queen stopped by to have a look at Eileen and have a chat about some exciting things on the horizon in 2016. Lots of good stuff coming up for Melbourne-based gin lovers!
